Club By-Laws

 

1. A club member will have access to the Circuit via the Palgate Application for private practice in accordance with Karting Australia rules, policies and by laws any day of the week. Exclusions to this include but are not limited to, Race Days, Controlled Practice, Working Bees, School Programs, Saturday afternoons before a race day when the track shall only be open to club members who have nominated for the following days competition and any dates as advised on the Clubs Website, by Email or Facebook.


2. Practice times are between 8:30am and 5:00pm and between 8:30am and 7:30pm during daylight saving.


3. A club member must at all times abide by all Karting Australia rules, policies and by laws as required by being a member of the Association.


4. A club member must not, under any circumstance, give anyone else access to the venue if they intend to use the Circuit in a manner against the rules.


5. The gate must be closed at all times and any person or persons tampering with the gate in any manner to force it to stay open will be sent a written warning.


6. An approved safety helmet, gloves, suit and boots conforming to the current KA rule book must be worn when practicing. Cadets must wear an approved rib protector in accordance with the rules at all times and an approved neck brace is strongly recommended.


7. All karts must fully comply with the KA rule book at all times whilst on the Circuit.

 

8. Stopping on the Circuit for mechanical repairs or driver coaching is strictly forbidden. The mechanical breakdown lane is the only area where a kart may stop intentionally for repairs or driver coaching. Karts which stop on the circuit due to mechanical breakdown or accident and cannot continue to be driven must be returned to the pit area by trolley for repair.

 

9. All members are requested to attend at least two (2) working bees per calendar year or to have assisted at the equivalent number of race meetings.

 

10. All members must keep their children under control at all times. Parents/Guardians will be held responsible for all damage caused Southern Go Kart Club Inc.

 

11. All members must never re-fuel or oil their kart on or over any bitumen surface.

 

12. Pitting on or over the bitumen roadways between the in and out grids and behind the weigh shed is not allowed.

 

13. No passengers are to be taken on or in karts at any time.

 

14. The track is to be used in an anti-clockwise direction only, unless authorised by the Committee.

 

15. Tyre barriers and or the track configuration must not be altered at any time. If tyre barriers are moved due to an accident they are to be replaced as soon as possible to their original position. If they cannot be replaced or if they need repair, further re location or attention a member of the club executive must be contacted immediately.

 

16. The consumption of alcohol or smoking in the pits is forbidden.

 

17. No Tyres are to be left or dumped at the venue.

 

18. No driver shall be allowed on the track whilst under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs.

 

19. No person is allowed on the mounds (Gun Club side of track) at any time.


20. All members must never drive a kart on a licensed track outside of the current practice rules imposed by KA. This refers to Cadets/Juniors/Seniors/Vintage practicing at the same time. All drivers are to adhere to the practice lights/timer when in use.


21. No person shall move any vehicle at the Club grounds who does not hold a license to operate such vehicle as issued by the Department of Transport or State Authority.

 

22. It is a condition of entry that club members and visitors acknowledge to be recorded by the club’s security system.

 

23. It is a condition of entry that members agree to follow any reasonable request from a committee member or official on duty.
